All visitors of the website www.heliost.gr are advised to read the following terms carefully.
1.Applicability. The following terms specify the rights and responsibilities that derive from the use of the website www.heliost.gr and govern the relationship between the website and its visitors. This website is owned by the association with the name «Hellenic Osteoporosis Association», hereafter referred to as “the association”. The following terms are considered accepted by the visitor as soon as he decides to enter the website. The visitor agrees explicitly, unreservedly and irrevocably to comply with these terms. In case any visitor disagrees with one or more of these terms, he/she is requested to terminate the navigation around the website www.heliost.gr and contact, if he/she wishes the website administrator for any complaints.
The website www.heliost.gr reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions at any time and without justification. Modified terms and conditions will apply to the use of this website from the date of their publication on the present section of the website. Thus our visitors are strongly advised to check the content of these terms at regular intervals. In case one or more of these terms are declared partially/fully invalid or inapplicable, the validity of the rest of the terms is not affected. The contingent legal blank in the agreement will be fulfilled by new or modified terms that will suit as much as possible to the legal purpose of the invalid/inapplicable term. In any case, the aforementioned procedure also applies on matters that are not explicitly regulated by these terms.
2.Scope. The website www.heliost.gr was created to enhance the pursuit of the purpose set by the association. This goal is to promote the knowledge of doctors and other scientists of related fields concerning metabolic bone diseases and osteoporosis. Acknowledging the irreplaceable contribution of these individuals in dealing with the aforementioned diseases, the association and its website have absolutely no intention of substituting the patients’ visit to them and the following of their instructions. On the contrary, the main goal of this website is to assist the efforts of doctor and familiar scientists by providing information, audiovisual material (pictures, videos, patterns, etc) and access to the association’s services. The subsidiary goal of this website is to provide information to the public concerning these diseases in an effort to increase its awareness on their existence and seriousness.
3.Association’s responsibility. The association cannot be held responsible under any circumstances for any health damage and/or any other consequence that derives from accessing the website and/or the incorrect use of the provided information. All the medical and scientific information that are provided by the website www.heliost.gr have an exclusively informative purpose. The content of the website and its services is provided by the association ‘’as it is’’. Therefore the association explicitly denies the existence of any explicit, direct/indirect, emanating by the circumstances or the credibility of the association warranties for its accuracy, safety, suitability and quality.
There is no intention on the behalf of the association or the website to encourage users to avoid or disregard the necessary medical instructions. The sole responsible for providing therapeutic and/or pharmaceutical treatment is in any case the attending physician. Any civil/criminal claims deriving from a doctor-patient relationship cannot under any circumstances be raised against the association.
4.User’s Responsibility. According to the present agreement you accept that you fully realize and accept the international nature of the internet and you are therefore obliged to follow the code of conduct set by Netiquette. In case the website provides you the ability to post something on the webpage or send by private message or any other way any information, audiovisual material, links to other websites and/or any readable/executable file in general from one computer (or any other electronic device), you are exclusively responsible for their content. It is noted that it is necessary for you to have a right to broadcast, based on the current legislation or a contractual relationship for every post or transmission of any kind you make. In any case the content of the aforementioned cannot:
- Be illegal, offensive, obscene, pornographic, threatening, defamatory, harassing, putting the welfare of children at risk or inciting hatred based on race, religion or sexuality,
- Infringe any applicable law concerning copyright, intellectual property and trademarks.
- Consist of software viruses or other harmful programs (malware), pop-up advertisements and spam that can cause temporary or permanent impairment/malfunction of any computer’s or other electronic device’s equipment (software or hardware) and/or delays, intervals or interruptions in the process of the proxy server or any other telecommunications network.
- Include false statement concerning the identity of the user or imitation of any natural or legal person.
In case any third party initiates legal proceedings against the website and/or the association on the grounds of any infringement of any legal right that according to the present agreement comes under the user’s field of responsibility, the association explicitly reserves its right to take such action as the association deems appropriate to deal with the infringement, including suspending access to the website, prohibiting the third party from entering the website, blocking computers using the third party’s IP address from accessing the website, contacting the relevant internet service provider to request that they block access to the website and/or bringing court proceedings against the third party. Alongside the third party’s potential claims the association reserves its right to demand indemnification on the behalf of the user for breaching the terms of use and for any other legal consequence that derives from it including without limitation legal expenses and any amounts paid by the association to a third party in settlement of a claim or dispute on the advice of the association’s legal advisers.
5.Intellectual and industrial property rights. According to the present agreement you accept and acknowledge that all copyright, trademarks, design rights, patents and other intellectual property rights (registered and unregistered) within www.heliost.gr content and services belong to the association and/or third parties (which may include you or other users). The association reserves all of its rights in this content and services based on the relevant provisions of Greek and European law and the international treaties. Nothing in the present terms grants you a right or license to use any trade mark, design right or copyright owned or controlled by the association or any other third party except as expressly provided in the terms of use. The domain name www.heliost.gr is legitimately registered on the database of the National Telecommunications and Post Commission for its exclusive use by the association and it is thus protected as a distinctive element by the relevant provisions of national and international law.
You agree to use the website www.heliost.gr and access the provided content as supplied to you by the association for yourself, and you may not assist anyone to, or attempt to, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, adapt, modify, copy, reproduce, lend, sub-license, make available to the public, create derivative works from, broadcast, distribute, commercially exploit, transmit or otherwise use in any way this website’s services and/or content in whole or in part except to the extent permitted in these terms of Use and the law or the prior written permission of the association.
In order to facilitate the users it is exceptionally permitted to individually copy and save parts of the website’s content on a simple Personal Computer/other electronic device for strictly personal use. The lack of an intention to commercially exploit this content and the reference to its original source are necessary prerequisites for this use. In any case this cannot be considered as a sign of willingness on the behalf of the association to grant any intellectual property rights.
In any case, by accessing and using the present website, the user admits that the exclusions and limitations on liability set out in this website disclaimer are reasonable. If you do not think they are reasonable, you must not use this website.

The aforementioned data are required in order for a user of the website to sign up as a member, to be able to receive our newsletter and to be in general easily contactable. The processing and protection of these data are subjected to these terms of use and to the relevant provisions of Greek, European and international law concerning data protection. The association is committed to protecting your personal information and thus promises not to deliberately share this information with any third party for commercial exploitation without your prior explicit consent except to the extent permitted by the law. The association retains the right to process your information partially or fully in order to improve the provided services and for statistic reasons. In exceptional cases the association has the right to convey the data to third parties (natural or legal persons) with which it cooperates for the exclusive purpose of improving the provided service and facilitating the association to achieve its goal. The website www.heliost.gr provided you the option to modify or delete your personal information by submitting the relevant form to the administrator of the website. You are reminded of your obligation to provide true and valid information about yourself. You are solely responsible for any legal or other consequences that derive from an incorrect/fake statement.
8.Hyperlinks. This website’s content may contain hyperlinks to websites and resources owned and operated by third parties in order to facilitate your navigation through the web. This cannot be considered in any way as an endorsement or approval of their content by the association. These third party websites and resources have their own terms of use and you are urged to review them. The association does not accept any responsibility or liability for any third party websites and resources and your access and use of such services and content is at your own risk.
9.YouTube Channel. This website provides you with audiovisual material via its channel on YouTube. This material which is provided exclusively via the channel owned by the association is considered intellectual property of the association and is thus protected by the relevant provisions of Greek, European law and international treaties.
10.Advertising policy. The association has the right -based on its articles of association- to receive revenue by any legal means in order to serve its purposes and pursuits. As a result www.heliost.gr contains third-party advertisement that concerns various products/services. Advertisements are presented in a manner and context so that the user can realize the difference between it and the services provided by the website itself. Advertisement takes place in a legitimate and ethical manner, fully respecting the legal provisions concerning advertising both from consumers’ protection and competition point of view. The website www.heliost.gr and the association commit to display advertisements only after having checked beforehand that they are in accordance with the aforementioned standards. They also promise to use any revenue received because of advertisements displayed on the website exclusively for the purposes of the association. The association can guarantee for the advertisement’s content but it explicitly denies any responsibility for any dispute that derives from the relationship between the user and the third party that is linked to the advertisement. This relationship is governed by the terms of use of the third-party’s website and the association’s responsibility is limited up to the point the user accesses any other website (same as Hyperlinks).
11.Applicable law and final provisions. The association constantly seeks to resolve any disputes that might occur from the use of the website’s content/services and/or the interpretation/implementation of these terms, out-of-court and in a friendly manner. For this reason, in case you notice anything problematic (from a moral or legal aspect) concerning either the content or the services of this website, you are kindly requested to notify the administrator immediately at info@heliost.gr. If, however, a friendly resolution of the arising dispute is not possible, the courts of Athens are competent for anyone to bring proceedings, while Greek and European law is applicable. Should a provision of the present terms be determined by the competent Court Authorities to be unlawful and/or unenforceable, the other terms shall continue in effect. If any unlawful and/or unenforceable term would be lawful or enforceable if part of it were deleted, that part will be deemed to be deleted, and the rest of the terms will continue in effect. The Hellenic Osteoporosis Association takes all the necessary actions through its designers and administrators in order to develop update and improve the provided content and services.
